Nature 4 - The Ocean And The Sea Coasts Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Nature 4 - The Ocean And The Sea Coasts

Rating: 5.0

When dark grey sea
With its surging stormy waves,
Turns blue! A beautiful blue!
Then, it is certain!
God has peeped out his heavenly abode,
Got hold of a painting brush,
To colour the bountiful nature and
To rejoice in his own loving creation!

As the sea turns into deep, dashing blue colour,
The sky looks down and waves through its white clouds,
To its buddy - the sea of salt water! Both of them,
The sea and the sky, nod and smile at each other!

The sea anemones with its columnar body
Sway under the sea with its orange tentacles
The Sea birds fly in a line with a calm discipline
Gliding above the sea - A vision of spectacular beauty!
Sea dahlias are pretty sea flowers,
Long stalked, solitary, with yellow flower heads,
The sea fans and sea feathers, delicate sea creatures
Lie hidden under the sea, amidst millions of fish families.

There is a heavy sigh of relief
From a mysterious colossal Presence!
That questions the calm tranquil silence,
How did serenity and tranquility arrive?

To imagine God rejoicing 'in his own loving creation' gives an impression of the poet's mind with regard to the mysteries and abundance of marine aquatic life which otherwise remains unknown to a common man. 'The sea and the sky, nod and smile at each other' and give us a never ending joy- first hand or vicarious. Thanks, Geeta ji.

I really smiled when I read that beautiful line 'Got hold of a painting brush, '... How beautifully the sea and the sky passed a grin. It is an aesthetical poem.
