POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is not a contest. There is no prize for identifying these flowers, just the satisfaction of doing so.
The yellow flowers in the back are supposed to be the tallest. In other years they have been. This year, they didn't grow as tall, but the red ones in the middle took off and almost buried the yellow ones.
I think this is the first year that we have planted the purple ones in the front, but at my age, I can't remember for sure.
I apologize for not taking a picture of them earlier in the season when they were in their full glory. They are well past their prime now.

The photo is a little out of focus, but my guess would be; Marigold, Geranium and Lobelia
