Angry Storm
The storm is an angry lion;
With one hoarse, strident roar
He sends the small animals
Scurrying to shelter.
The gnashing of his teeth
Is a flash of sparks
That precedes the raucous
Rumble of his voice.
His nebulous mane is dark and dense,
A signal of his danger.
With an icy claw
He strikes and slashes the saplings,
Striving to evict his prey.
Failing in this,
He drenches their domain
With bitter tears of rage.
Original title was
'The Storm', but if you do a PH search for that title, it is not found, so I am changing the title today (8 April 2017)to see if a PH search will now find it.
Hey Kim! You mean you wrote this back in 1973? So you are really 102... Took up your challenge to read and I can see why you wanted some feedback. It's brilliant! A very effective, sustained metaphor. So fitting to compare a storm to a lion. I love the tears in the end. Never seen a lion cry before, but I'm willng to believe it! I'm African, remember? Laurie

i gave up using the computer to translate/explain the writing in the photo (used magnifying glass first) . some turkish city i believe. poor storm! how discouraged it must have been! had to find the correct definition for nebulous (cloud-like) before i could ok this poem. OK! gee, cloud/could...........so similar! bri :)
