My World Is Fire Poem by PaulAndre Pelletier

My World Is Fire

My world is of life, my world is of death
It has many lows and rarely a higher
My world is of exale, my world is of breath
My world is of wind, my world is of fire

It has no sky, no clouds and no rain
It has no pasture of life and green
My world is of grief, mysery and pain
Nowhere is there beauty to be seen

My world is of certainties, my world is of doubts
It asks many questions but gives no answer
My world is of journeys, my world is of routes
My world is forgotten, my world is fire

It has no rest, no sleep and no dream
It offers no chance of a better fate
My world is of nightmare and scream
From which there is no way to wake

My world is of truth, my world is of lies
It is filled with secrets, cold and dire
My world is of sorrows, my world is of cries
My world is a murmur, my world is fire

I want to close my eyes, and feel the embrace
And the sweet relief of a dreamless slumber
To just vanish, without worry or trace
And forget that my world, my world is fire
