My Heart Wanders At Night Poem by Christa D

My Heart Wanders At Night

Rating: 4.5

Discarded, due to its lack of might
My hearts wanders through the shadows of the night.

It seems like love was the twin of suffering,
And the frail heart couldn't afford another sting.
Once, the fear of prolapse became more concrete
The thick veils of darkness was turned into a retreat.
Deep within, passion has stopped ringing a bell.
Since lethargy of feelings is better than their farewell
In the hours of darkness, my heart chose to wander
Out of love's sight in order to keep itself together

I can SO relate to this one! The greater the love, the greater the suffering after los: , and if too intense, one can become numb. An excellent write depicting heartbreak and love lost!
