My Heart Is Your Home Poem by Rustiq Joy

My Heart Is Your Home

My heart is your home
Where happy thoughts of you lie
In gentler times.
The days where we ran across the hills of Mount Carmel
Walked along the streets of Hollywell
And sipped our Coca cola watching the mists cover the Blue mountains.

You lay there every night while I sleep
And wake with me in the Mornings.
The mornings,
The longings, the dreadings
Euphemisms are not enough
The capture the desires of my heart.

The memories unfold vaguely
In the darkest of night
You seem distant now
Doubts set on play, replay
Over and over in my mind
And I feel death once again.

We walk along a tight path,
One misstep, a new direction has replaced the old.
One misstep, one step and you may never be;
We may never become,
Maybe it has already begun.
