My Dream Girl Friend, A Rendering Of She Was A Girl Friend By Inguruwattadewage Pushpadewa

Her cheeks like rose petals
pulled my heart towards her

her brownish hair like liquid light
sparkled in my eyes

her lips like slices of delicious water melons
made heart shapes for me

her lazy eyes talking to me
were shattering my heart into pieces so many

her thin neck like a soft stump charmed
my heart, the ground slipped under my feet

her breasts like of a godess' moving up and down
when she walked, captured my heart instantly

her lap large as a clay pot
was enticing, so amazing

her poise when got into the carriage that day
I still at nights go dreaming

her fragrance of fresh flowers
still lingers in my memory

her lips were moving, saying
all her love was for me

I tried to tell her how I loved her
but my lips were not moving

I stood there love-bitten like a zombie
till she got out of sight

but I still see her in my head
every day and night...
