Musing Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Musing

Rating: 5.0

If I should write a thousand poems
In perfect iambic pentameter, or free verse,
With images so vivid they create a scene
Will one of them be read in a classroom text
Or, find a place in a well-known magazine
One hundred years from today?

Shall my gems be greeted with ho-hums,
Laughter, derision, be mimicked, or worse,
Be read by a friend, a critic, or never seen.
The thought leaves me somewhat perplexed
Shall I arrive at the inaugural in a limousine?
Just let me write a poem that will be okay!

Excellent poem. You got it write just right poems, pun intended. There are two kinds of people, those who who write poems and those who write. Let them read..you dig. Great piece.
