Murder On My Mind (Inspired By Susan Williams)

Rating: 5.0

I have a murder on my mind;
I don't know what to do.
These crows are driving me insane;
how can I make them shoo?

They won't stop "caw"ling out to me;
the racket is intense!
You can't shoot crows in my home state,
and that just makes no sense!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
16 December 2019

Inspired by the poem "Uneasy Murder of Crows" by Susan Williams, and by the comments below the poem and some of her responses to the comments.
Go read her poem. It's a great one!

(A group of crows is called a "murder".) The murder I have on my mind, of course, is that murder of crows in my yard.

Update: I have just learned that you CAN shoot crows in Utah (if you are a farmer and they are damaging your crops) . Also, there was actually a crow hunt approved by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources in 2014, because crows were damaging so many crops. I don't know if there have been any official hunts since then. I will have to do more research.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

We could train eagles and falcons to do our dirty work for us [evil laughter off stage]. I was looking for the riddle I think I solved but cannot find it and now I will suffer from curiosity evermore!

Hahahahahahahahahah! You and my husband- -he too thinks I inspire murderous thoughts! Spock's comment is also amusing- who would have thought that crows could inspire such humor? ? ? Kim, I am envious of your smooth stanzas and flow from line to line, 10+

Susan, thank you so much for this comment. You have some pretty smooth lines yourself, and I'll bet you have inspired other people before me!

If the intensity of the cawing is the first degree, then it's first degree murder! Ha Ha
