Mournful Cry - Μοιρολόι Poem by Kostas Lagos

Mournful Cry - Μοιρολόι

Rating: 5.0

Beneath these ashes are buried

hopes, dreams and joys

that will never come.

Let the tears of angels and stars

wash them out so they will shine again.

Sometimes hopes and dreams are burnt. But beneath ashes dreams, hopes and joy bloom with greatness. Morning light sprinkles tenderness and sorrow goes so far. Future shines with joy. An amazing poem is excellently penned...10

A poem that sets you thinking as poem goes, the rest is over-crowding verbose prose... Congrats for POD dear poet.

I've come- no rose, no tears in hand; with moaning heart. inside of me rain of tears are falling but here you are in ashes. Do you know the air has life! Do you know the sunny ray has life! Do you know the fire has life! Do you know the ash has life! Do you know the clay or sands has life! Do you know there is nothing as death in this world! Inside of my raining tear is still listening your immortal song ................. nice

Your beautifully crafted words give hope to all victims of disaster. Being able to speak words of inspiration in more than one language is a gift.

What a jewel of a poem! And much more so, since it is based on a true story! I saw on the news about all the burned-out automobiles, the weeping people. Let the tears of angels & stars wash out the hopes & dreams from underneath the ashes! Beautifully written!
