Mother's Blessings Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Mother's Blessings

Rating: 5.0

Life was such a pretty song
and just as beautiful as you
the smile, the laughter, the togetherness,
it all rolled away along with the times;
but now as you are old and slow
we try to return the love and care
you gave to us through all those years;
it was you who taught us
to stand up and be tough,
it was you who wiped away our tears
when we feared or cried,
it was you who told us to love
and life would love back in double measure,
it was you who prompted us to stand up
for truth, justice and brotherhood,
thank you for being our mother
who sacrificed it all, who endured it all
and still loved us all as much as God.
