Mirror Of Terror, Thou Shall Not Kill The Kindest! (Dedicated To Victims Of London Bridge Atttack) Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Mirror Of Terror, Thou Shall Not Kill The Kindest! (Dedicated To Victims Of London Bridge Atttack)

Many fingers, many hands
many eyes, many minds
all in the fray of anticipation
some hoping to win their dream
some waiting to earn their wages
all in a rush of expectation
though in their pockets of thoughts
prevails fear of terror and rage;
suddenly, unexpectedly they come
uncertain who their target is
but knowing for sure their game
death and destruction their way;
what can amendments do for now
when every lane, every wall intermingles
those who have come to stay
and changed themselves from friends
to foes, to unsuspecting enemies
who have lived along with those
they kill so mercilessly
those they injure so brutally.
Mirror of Terror, is this the reflection
London gets for harbouring those
who came in helplessness
and today they repay the kindness
the generosity by knives and guns
by bombs and explosives
when those streets
have seen generations live and laugh
for centuries without any disdain.
