Hold thy sighs, fair Mirabilis!
And embrace thy essence in thy cascading drapes;
Gently breathe in THY perfumed enigma…
To fathom why the wait is worth thy finesse.
Lift thy loveliness, fair mirabilis!
Oh! The way thou whirl thy pleats to celluloid jazz and reality blues!
When the sky storms and I see its calm in thy purple iris,
Whilst thy spirit sashays to the same violent tunes.
I blow my fallen lashes to beckon for thee,
Evening dust in all its sprinkles of deepened desires-
To clasp in the wind a spell to pray to the Nightfall Sea;
And oh amoretti! To compose for THEE on a darkened lyre!
I foresee the earth yearning to forget the dawn in so divine an exchange;
To dive in plum nebula or to glimpse just a soupçon of thy sway!
Beautiful poem. Metaphorical too. Although you address the four-O-Clock flowers, you indirectly address human beings of similar character and their beauty
