Lone Wolves Running Wilderness Wind Distances Poem by Terence George Craddock

Lone Wolves Running Wilderness Wind Distances

Rating: 5.0

lone wolves
must walk wild places
where the wind whistles

on wilderness steeps
covering rough country
alone running solitary

lapping out 50 k a day easy
in wind desolate wild places
running 3 days no eating easy

lone wolves must walk the wild places alone
because they can must run wilderness wind distances
alone in wind thoughts running lapping out time

Snow leopards are surely aware of the great immensities they overlook. When surmounting precarious heights, they know they exercise mastery. Each animal revels in its special capability.

The wolves know how far they must trot with hunger stabbing their guts. What heartless human would be dismissive of their sentience? Their presence deepens the wilderness.

there is a danger in dismissing the rights of animals to live free in wild places, the way we view animals like wolves, I wrote it in the poem 'Wolves Running Free' after your comments Denis.

The wolves taste the desolation and wild emptiness. You can hear it in their mournful keenings.
