Life's Cycle V Exit Lounge Poem by Adrian Flett

Life's Cycle V Exit Lounge

Rating: 5.0

Life seems to hesitate
here to wait to contemplate
in this huge spacious hall
there's room, time for all.

While needing to stay reluctant to go
knowing the time will come
to separate from this tired old frame
as things cannot remain ever the same.

The mistakes and faults begun
along the way seemed when done
to be right at the time they happened
yet seem so foolish on reflection.

Just as we meditate on where we'll go
The new generation, in which we‘re no actor
just begin the journey of mind and body
as our children's offspring start the next chapter.

The creation of the next tier
in which we had no hand
but just watch as they appear
while rapt, stranded we stand.

As these arrivals new to the fold
from the same spot where we'll soon go
may angels watch over them though
so soft, gentle and tender to hold.

A tender poem of care and concern for the next generation. May the angels watch over them.
