Let 's Tango Poem by Cleveland W. Gibson

Let 's Tango

Rating: 5.0

It is always the same.
Love is the name of that
terrible game. When you
decide to let me in I cry.
If you don't I'll only die.

Starting on Mars, we did
a Tango to the stars, and
you showed your delight
in the way you spoke,
shook your hair and we
danced away the night.

Maybe it was that wine,
red and given free that
made you drink so much
to make me your biggest
tease. Lift your gaze and
concentrate on my face.
Not pretty, someone
might say but isn't it the
way to go, when love
shows, only love knows.

Look we have another
dance-hall in the city
cool, look around at the
young bride and the
husband, the old fool.
Both look in love and
why not indeed, love
waits for the empty soul
upon which to feed.

Now it is our turn to feel
the heat, to know the
thrill as we reach that
point, no longer a loner
but one of a kind, I mean
you are the one for me.
What fun! Let's Tango
again to the exact beat
of a joyous life.
