Let It Rain Ashore Poem by Tapera Makadho

Let It Rain Ashore

Rating: 4.0

Let it rain ashore
At sea though deluged
They are retreating from land

Deluded by the scent and scenic scenery of sea
The vista of gull and seal
The captivating glisten of ray on water
Beguiled by the soothing sea breeze
They have unmoored their yachts
They are retreating from land

As the tide recedes from shore
They recede along in their yachts
Receding albeit offshore
As the ebb drifts from land
They ebb along in their houseboats
Drifting albeit from the mainstream

Let it rain ashore
On waif and wretch
Of the wretched land
They see the sea retreat
They watch from the wretched shore
They see the sea drift offshore
Drifting not with too many
But with too much

They watch the sea drift
Along with breeze and vista
Gull and seal
Albatross and superfluity
They watch from the shores of EQUALITY
Yes, let it rain ashore!
