It Too Shall Pass Poem by The Muse

It Too Shall Pass

Rating: 4.7

O tell me not in mournful numbers
life is but an empty dresm
I played my cards well
but the cat got all the cream?

You watch as I slowly disintegrate
& my life begins to fade
You watch till when I burn to ash
And then blow away the dust?

You say you have my best wishes in mind
That you're the best
That you're not unkind
You say I will rise

Like phoenix he says
Like a butterfly
So you let me be
To fend my way all alone

Know this then
That when I do
I will no longer want for you
A figment of my imagination

A moment in time
A fading memory
A happy day in the sun
It too shall pass

A heartfelt painful expression. Well written and felt and expressed. Good work. Admirations.
