I See You Again. Poem by The Muse

I See You Again.

Rating: 5.0

I see you everyday
Why do you haunt me so
If you don't want to stay?
Why do you leave me alone
Through my darkest days

Am I so despicable
Am I that distasteful
Am I to burn you
Were you to come close
Are you afraid of what you once chose

There is not much strength left
There is no fight in me
I may fall and stumble
At any bended knee
I could walk away I wish

I could walk alone I wish
But I fear I need to rest
I may just lay my head down
And put all sorrows to rest
No more strife and no more pain

No more waiting endlessly for Godot in vain
No he wouldn't come
He cannot dare to claim
This love of ours was one sided
And I the fool to blame

It's too late before realisation dawns. That eternal wait is too painful. Very touchy poem.10++

Pain of self speaks a lot to the extent of one sided love. Good reflective poetry. admirations Sir.
