Into Ether Poem by S. A. Crawford

Into Ether

Into Ether
Into—
into the ether
This
whether night
whether day
This
whether wrung right
with living waters
or in the ether
that dissipate gave;

nothing goes back,
no thing can go back;
ever evaporates in sight of the gray, vast
as Time, just as Time, its armor being
of itself and
everything else,

whether this,
every war,
one war or no war at all,
on my thwart-
ran lips, keen from truth's kindness,
keen truth's coarse in weather,

I run—I rule— where,
whether its night,
whether its day,

into time's great preceding pastime
forever dissipate and gray.
