In A Glass Box Poem by Shannon Walshe

In A Glass Box

In the street is a kingdom,
A kingdom of the mimes,
Their exaggerated movements,
Is it a desperate sign?

Frantically pushing,
Against invisable walls,
A glass box, a prison,
Yet no-one stops or stalls.

People in the street,
Just pass on by,
Never stopping,
Never wondering why,
These mimes stand in the streets,
Imprisoned by their way of life.
