I Walked Away Silently Poem by Asma Khan

I Walked Away Silently

You never looked into my pleading eyes
the pain and curse I went through once.

You never heard my dying voice in sorrows
the regret and grieves I had hidden in it.

You never crossed my path again
how lonely and awaiting I stood there forever.

You never thought how I lived after you
broken and lifeless I remained alone.

You never cared to think of me
old and ruined I dragged myself to death.

You never thought if I'd really love you
courageous and brave I fought alone for you.

You never gave me a place in your heart
homeless and tired I sat on the streets of hopes.

You never took a minute to know me
unknown and lost I wondered in your thoughts.

You never knew if I suffered from your grieves
patient and quiet I awaited your mercy.

You never came to me with a loving heart
floating and drowning I always followed you.

You never were and will be loved after me
weeping and sobbing I pray for you.

You never realized my presence in your life
trampling and dangling I left your steps.

You never smiled on my name in your dreams
heartless and yielding I slept each night.

You never felt alone after leaving me
dead and gone I cried over my funeral.

You never tasted loneliness in your life
caring and dying after you I left everyone behind.

You never know who much I loved you
silent and lost I wished to live again to be with you.
