I Did, I Do, I Always Have, And Probably Always Will Poem by John Yaws

I Did, I Do, I Always Have, And Probably Always Will

Two frustrated lovers, and one frustrated love-
And yet it's just as certain- as the stars which shine above.
I know that it's impossible, but babe, I love you still-
I did, I do, I always have, and know I always will.

We cannot be together, and we cannot stay apart-
Our love is like a fever which is burning in our heart.
To look into your dreamy eyes does give my heart a thrill,
It did, it does, it always has, I know it always will

I trade a nundred years or so, for moments spent with you.
I never dreamed this could exist, and neither dear, did you-
You gave me all you had to give and all my dreams fulfilled.-
You do, you do, you always have, I guess you always will.
