Her Cleansing Tears Poem by John Paul Butler

Her Cleansing Tears

Last night she cried her saltwater
From the oceans within
Deep into my eyes
Which cleansed my sight
And now I can see her more clearly
Than l ever have before
So that even my dreams of her
Seem more vivid
Because those emotions rained down
Through my iris skies
And touched a place inside
That had to learn
How tears can burn
As much as fire itself
