Hemlock Written In Autumn Poem by Munira Chowdhury

Hemlock Written In Autumn

Rating: 5.0

1. I had hung the picture of eternal time during those dizzy mornings, stitching them...Those shadowy appearances have now become hazy...Fingers of raindrops on the roof are splitting in cries or classical music - I do not understand properly...had sailed paper boats in ponds during childhood...had thought -- the boats would grow bigger one day, I'll meet them in Mehekseas…
My birds did not fly anymore...in distant past I had clipped the wings of birds and preserved them in childhood album…

2. Now the sounds of silence are sleeping...sleeping forever...I am pulling the boat of sand all alone in the desert…
Beside the distant window I see -- someone's well known shadows float drown the mirrors keep on melting…
I open my eyes and see -- eyes are nowhere, no shadows, no image-reflection at all in the empty room all dead Muniraillusion my fireillusion are lying down…

3. Around the blue fire of hell are flying burning tongues on the flying tongues sounds and echoes of wailing are stuck I did not go anywhere all my writings have disappeared from my manuscript…
The hand is daubed in blood...how do I write stories and Munirastories, river and Meheknanda's water even then -- the crystal bird is handing me over the Archaeological pen

Pardon me O bird, bird feather, pardon me river, pardon me both shores of river pardon me pardon me pardon me pardon me scarlet oleander I am a mere stone chip…

4. Think that you are --- bliss in form burned somewhat by the fangs of water in the morning light there is no orange colour, except ash-hued girl's brittle body beside a dilapidated temple our bugles of broken conch shell are getting shattered and shattered dear friend, I am lying beneath the firefountainl as a mummy

I will not be awake anymore I will not be awake

Then why do you want to wake me up sleeping bees' fountain

Will this mummy ever be a Wman at Mathura Vrindavan
