Grass Stalk Poem by tharindra galahena

Grass Stalk

Struggles to bloom,
Through a crack in the cement road.
Hammered down,
By angry feet,
By vicious heels,
Over and over.

When to open the tiny petals in the end,
Like a victory flag,
To dance in the wind.

It's not like blooming in the wilderness,
It's hard to bloom in a place you doesn't belong.
