Gerald St Clare Hart Poem by Gillian M Hart

Gerald St Clare Hart

Gerry is what he was called by others,
Except for his family.
Relatives either said Gerald or Dad.
A well-loved man was he,
Loved by his children and wife.
Devoted to them was he.

So well do I remember
The suffering he had.
Lungs and heart, both were weak,
Affected by his job.
Rough though he felt when ill,
Everyone thought he was great fun.

Heavy was his burden of illness.
And though in pain he had
Relief because of love,
That helped cope with the pain.
