Fly Again Poem by Darren Pickering (Goodnight D)

Fly Again

I was destined to fly again. I didn't know exactly when or precisely how, but I was going to fly again. Just thought it was going to be with you.
It was going to take waking up again like scrunched up paper, like chopped up liver. But I was going to fly again.
Unhelpful late night texts: could have wallpapered the walls with them! I refused to move from my position at the window.
I was going to fly again. Just thought it was going to be with you.
