Fit For All Poem by heather sweeting

Fit For All

Fit for all!

Darts are dead, long live the smock!
Voluminous ‘omni-fitting’ frock.
From neck to knee it skims all shape
A gaudy patterned, chiffon drape.

Waists denied and busts placated
The hourglass look is thought outdated,
relegated to the past,
smocks the mode now unsurpassed!

Tailors redundant and cutters idle,
Pattern drapers suicidal,
tent makers hone their sewing skills
on frothy, flounced flamenco frills!

So ladies, gorge and stuff yourselves
on cakes and pastries from bakery shelves,
pile on the pounds and develop a ‘pot’!
Your smock will cover the wobbly lot!
