Faith Is The Fifth Dimension Poem by Tom Billsborough

Faith Is The Fifth Dimension

Rating: 5.0

Faith is the fifth dimension,
Erecting vast structure.
The Taj Mahal, the pyramids
Great telescopes
Eyeing both past and future.
It is the power within
Building our hopes
Beyond the bounds of reason
Towards the immortal.
A lack of it is fatal.
A flat sea stretching to eternity
With no waves to stir our restless beings.

Tom, I don't think I have ever seen two better lines in a lifetime of reading than these two- - -> A flat sea stretching to eternity With no waves to stir our restless beings. -< - - - - - - - Your poetic skills are magnifique! [that be French from one who never studied it] You are my favorite and this is another of my fav works by you!

you MAY have 'hit faith on the head', like a nail with a hammer(?) , with: " Beyond the bounds of reason" bri :) Philosophical doesn't 'do it' for me. give me humour/humor, and a little doesn't hurt along with it. bri :)

indeed, , , , there will be consequences even in the fifth dimension- -I know these things because of crystal ball driven sci fi space ships....[ wiggling my eyebrows here..in the seventh dimension] ..

I missed out on the sixth dimension, which is a pity as I believe its really funny like The starship Enterprise. One of the Monsters was the spitting image of one of my neighbours, except for the green face. The monster's was a sort of blotchy pink.

In the modern world I see many structures that rival the pyramids in scope. Even a library is a pyramid in which knowledge journeys into the future. The ultimate aims of large structures are intangible. You write of THE POWER WITHIN/ BUILDING OUR HOPES/ BEYOND THE BOUNDS OF REASON. Indeed, there is a direction of endeavor that is only accessible to faith.

I'm teaching my cat Tilly some French. So far she understands that " canard" is " duck" and " ouvrez la porte, garcon paresseux" means open that door for me, you lazy beggar! She's soaking wet at the moment. The only disadvantage of being a cat is the " Al fresco" (Italian) toilet. Otherwise they've got it made!
