At last it's near! I face my death
With joyful exultation. No pain I feel, no longer life I cling to.
Strange that I have lived a life
so ordinary that it rippled not the millponds of the world.
Where now I am, nothing matters save the total passing of my days.
I die replete, the things I sought but found not
they are nothing and I seek no more.
This my final obligation - on my life's page I quietly place
the last full stop where it belongs. There- - >.
Now surely I will slip beneath the waters of oblivion
and be eaten by the stars
