Eulogy For Ex-Us President Late George H. W. Bush Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Eulogy For Ex-Us President Late George H. W. Bush

Creating history is
not an individual choice
but when fate and destiny keep
clapping hands summoning persons, countries
to fight a war to save others from a wrath,
brave are those who dare and win.
Kuwait was under siege by the Iraqi army,
Saudi Arabia sought help from America
over a possible invasion by Iraq,
Iraqi soldiers were already trespassing
into Saudi on the Eastern side.
Iraq even made attempts to negotiate a deal
that they would allow America to take control
of half of Kuwait if America refrained from
opposing the invasion of Kuwait.
The American President George H. W. Bush
refused such a dishonest offer
and insisted on a complete withdrawal
of Iraqi forces from Kuwait.
America asked other countries to join in
and come together as allies;
coalition forces launched attack
on invading Iraqi army
forcing them to retreat,
Operation Desert shield-
Desert Storm the final combat
before Kuwait is freed
and peace returns
in the middle-east.
The Gulf-War and
President George H. W. Bush
wrote new pages of history,
a greater sacrifice not only for
the countries he saved
but for a world where
the rule of law supplants
the rule of the jungle,
where the world in which nations
recognize the shared responsibility
for freedom and justice,
a world where the strong
respect the rights of the weak.
