Drizzle Poem by Amala Davis

Drizzle

Alone I stood
Aside the golden shower tree
That swayed in the wind.

Haunted by vague memories
My mind turned blank
Terrible scilence pierced me
Dimming the brightness in my eyes
That once shone like stars

Voiceless words echoed in me
That, I am condemned
Thrown to the dungeon -
Of emptiness and loneliness...

A sudden cool breeze tickled me,
Many more seconds ticked away...
A bright silver light flashed in the sky
Accompanied by a terrible roar
Horrorstruck stood I.
No. Its not the thunderstorm,
That made me freeze.
Its the cool rain drops!

My forehead burned,
At the touch of the cool droplets.
Sudden realization swept over me
How foolish to remain hopeless,
Without even trying to break the fog - in my eyes
Someday I could fly away,
From this darkness...
To the land of bright colours
Just like the falling
Of the rain.
