Don't Sell Your Vote Poem by Khalid Musa

Don't Sell Your Vote

Rating: 4.0

Don't do it!
Don't sell it!
I know that your fatherland has lost its sparkling light and radiant since,
But don't sell yourself as a slave!
Don't sell your future
Don't sell your child's future
Don't sell your people's future
Don't sell your hope
Don't give up on Nigeria
Don't allow today's predicaments induce you to relive the plight of yesteryear!
The plight of yesteryear like adversities
Adversities which resulted in many catastrophes
Catastrophes that prevailed in our nation
Our nation that need reformation
Reformation through a free and fair elections
A free and fair elections without any hinge of corrupt activities
Corrupt activities like trading your freedom for a number
A number which certainly wouldn't satisfy your needs
DON'T SELL YOUR VOTES!
DON'T TRADE YOUR FREEDOM FOR A NUMBER!
If there is life, there is hope
A possibility of a better future;
A promising future
Because your vote is your future!
Your vote is your child's future!
Your vote is your people's future!
Your vote is Nigeria's future!
Can't you see the power of your vote?
So I believe, YOU and I together we can make Nigeria proud.
