Don't Go To Chicago Poem by Kelsey Allaman

Don't Go To Chicago

Rating: 5.0

Don't go to Chicago
You'll love the way
The lights bounce off
the cement
How they dance
Off the glow of the
Sunset
You'll love the way
They warm your skin
And chase away
The shadows
Don't go to Chicago
You'll love the way
The buildings tower above
Making all your worries
Seem so much smaller
How they seem to make
The world
Fill with questions
That have yet to be
Answered
Don't go to Chicago
You'll love the way
Opportunities stretch
Before you
How one path
Leads to a million
And those million
Lead to another billion
You'll love the way
The future seems
Less intimidating
Less horrifying
Less impossible
Don't go to Chicago
You'll love the way
It feels like home
How the buildings, people
and atmosphere
Seems to carve to create
A place for you
You'll love the way
It's designed to fit to
You
Don't go to Chicago
You'll love the way
It makes you feel so
Much
That you will never
Leave
