Digging Out Of Hades Poem by Adrian Flett

Digging Out Of Hades

As we dig our way out,
will The Lounge of Good Intentions
be filled with intent
or will it be rent
by deceit and dissent?

Yes we descended into Hell
now buried there in greed
we don't need and won't adhere
to Buddhist, Christian, Muslim or Jew
or the strict laws of Sharia.

Even atheists and pagans
know how fast we got here.
Seeking the way out is slow.
It is a long row to hoe
the longer the hotter it will grow.

The Commitment Site fills with young
who take charge reenergise
with painful tedious sacrificial
effort to seize the thistle
from the hands of betrayal.
