Dear Fear Poem by TANIMONURE ADEWALE

Dear Fear

Dear Fear,
Of moneyed might of death
Weighing weighty wears and tears
In billions of doom and gloom,

Our strange, well known philanthropist
Beloved brother in fiercest of hatred
Of riches of ruin, giving gifts of horror
In large heart of acidic abundance,

God on earth,
Self displacement and replacement
Sharing wealth of woe in brotherhood foe
As our portion of earth inheritance,

Fear Sir,
Can you please pardon the dollar note?
Don't let the excited fire take its life and soul
In a pint of mercy, we painfully beg thee
Let it bring just a little succour; just a little
To prolong our shrinking life sinking deep
Down bit by bit death's sweet throat
Gulping galore in yummy yuck of sadness.

Dear Fear
