Crow Call At Dawn Poem by Gordon R Menzies

Crow Call At Dawn

Crow call at dawn on Buffalo Mountain
Fire lit brick and dancing flame light
wooden rafters and sleeping woman
murmuring firelight catches red hair
spilled softly over glowing white linen
pristine alpine air creeps by open door
over open pages and bare feet exposed
Long Night lingers on the threshold, leaves
with a contented knowing grin on its face
pale length of leg flickering as if dreamed
red wine sings morning songs going down
green grapes are drying by the bed stand
pages in this book are turning, yearning
Crow call at dawn on Buffalo Mountain
