Come To West Lake Poem by Mahinda Abeysinghe

Come To West Lake

Rating: 5.0

Come to west lake,
Come wearing your
Sleeveless long frock
With little red flowers.

We will sit by the lake
Under a shady tree
Side by side
Leaning against
Each other.

I will feel the softness
Of little red flowers
In your flowery dress
That flutter in the wind.

Come to west lake,
Come wearing your long frock
Of little red flowers,
With no sleeves.

I place my head on your
Bare shoulder,
I feel the softness
Of your skin.

The comfort of your
Soft skin: softer than
The flower petals
Takes me to the heavenly bliss
Of your loving warmth.

Come to west lake,
Come wearing your
Sleeveless long frock
With little red flowers

Gentle breeze caressing
Cold vapours make your hair
Hug my face sending
Ripples through our bodies.

Twining hands warm the hearts
No need for words as feelings
Flow throug the entwined fingers
Of our warm hands.

Come to west lake,
Come wearing your long frock
Of little red flowers.
With no sleeves.
