Christmas Season Propagates Love Universally Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Christmas Season Propagates Love Universally

I can hear the silver bells ring,
in excitement of tradition
in effervescence of joy
children keep running in and out
gathering tinsel and boughs,
items of crib they fetch
insisting they have to install it
to feel the joy of Christmas
within their hearts
within their homes;
so many away from home
so many have left this earth,
each one missing someone
but those who are together,
in the momentum of joy
beautifying homes
changing flowerpots
painting old walls
buying new clothes
all in that frenzy of celebrations
waiting for Christmas to begin;
who knows what is faith
until stars get lighted
atop every house
and start to shine
on Christmas nights,
when every child runs
to find a Christmas gift
which Santa Claus never brings
but parents hide it below
the Christmas tree
or on the outside door
to make it big
in the hearts of kids;
yet joy spirals
everywhere in the world
exuberance, excitement
as Christmas is coming;
everyone waiting to celebrate
the birthday of Christ in gentleness,
so beautiful is every street
as every house, every corner gets adorned
with many little lights that sparkle
pushing warmth of great intensity
within the heart;
bubbles of joy
waiting for Christmas
as if it is an event rare
though every year it recurs;
yet waiting for Christmas
an inward feeling
all in common share
as Christmas propagates love
a love that extends universally.
