Christmas Poem by Christina Simmons

Christmas

Rating: 5.0

We rule! Going so soon...?
Come on forget inhibition
The fun has only just began!
It's really OK being who you are cause

It's that time of year once again!
Reverting back to our childhood
Festive season is a magical period:
Let the inner child play games

Experienced happiness get to what it means being
carefree and so very innocent
Wide eyed in wonder! Feeling awesome surrounded
by our dearest and nearest
Music playing at home and everywhere we care to go

Radio is blaring loudly! ? More slowly and softly
than you care to imagine
Stockings hanging over the fireplace
Mistletoe and wine
Unfold like A rose greeting the sun
Early in the morning dawn

Clowning and prancing around feeling like Waltzing Matilda:
Can't get the steps right - falling about flat on the floor - feeling like A fool! Let down by Santa clause?
The old man will come knocking, rolling down the chimney!
Hooray! Clap hands; knowing you're getting something nice

Specially gift wrap presents with red ribbons loosely tied
It's a surprise! Letting out black smoke -
looking like some sort of buffoon; foot loose
And fancy free like yesteryear;
Indulging in different flavours:
Munching on clementine

Parsnips, potatoes, Foie gros
Carrots, Brussels sprouts
Pigs wrap in blankets - having turkey the big bird -
chocolate drops and champagne
Maybe brandy as well: advocare, advocaat and baby champ;
Missing anything? Mines a nut roast...
butternut squash as well.
None alcoholic beverages If you please!

Tell a tale or two, bring laughter to
a weary and frayed face; What a turnout....Dear!
Wide grin perking you up; rosy cheeks,
bringing sunshine Just one day -
better be ready don't blink:
Miss all the fun and be square:
Put woes aside For Christmas!
It only takes place once a year

Affinity, affluent, and wealthy rich, all in one DAY
He's burst my bubble got me babbling....Baby stay!
Forgetting he is a bachelor: Except cuddles and kisses -
holding me tightly whispering with a smile:
Sweet rhymes in my ear: kind I like to hear

Remembering folks that time Of year is already here!
Magic unfolds making everyone happily in-tune -
miracles takes shape if you Believe. Comforting -
snug as a cushion!
Calendar months roll-over until next December
