'Can You Stop The Rain? ' Poem by John Tatum

'Can You Stop The Rain? '

Rating: 3.0

Can you stop the rain by complaining,
Can you stop death from being itself...
When it happens will you love it,
With the same passion you gave to life?
Can you find joy in the rain,
Like a small boy taking a noon day nap,
under a tin roof...quietly resting
as his subconscious mind enjoys the
soothing sounds of rain drops on tin.
Can you stop the rain by complaining,
Can you stop death, by ignoring life?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
As Tagore said in his brilliant analogy..the baby is unconsolable when taken from the Mother's right breast, until delighted by the sight and feel of the left breast...feeding on this analogy, I offer my crude found poem.
