Blue Skies, Goodbyes Poem by Charmaine Sinclair

This is a day
for maybe,
you and me...

the sun is bright, bright in my eyes
it hurts so much to open them...
but its infinately better
than to lose sight of you

The clouds today,
seem like grazing sheep
on a paddock called the sky,
walking peacefully by and by.

I feel the spiky grass,
brown, yellow, green
its cool compared to
your warm skin

today is the day we say
goodbye,
you know it, as well as I.
But for this moment let me look on,
my hands clinging to your shirt

tears, dripping, or maybe not...

I stare in the hope to remember
your face and your mind

Today is just another day,
beautiful in its anonymous form
to fade from many memories
forgotten, tucked away

Today is the day of blue, skies, good byes.
