Bidding Adieu Poem by Amar Agarwala

Bidding Adieu

Rating: 4.6

I
No song I have my blessed child
No thoughts which could bid adieu,
As you travel to yonder world
Where you'd start your life anew;

II
Know the Almighty will bequeath
Upon you his blessings due,
Fair angels will be by your side
And cupids will play with you.

III
You will bask in glory and joy
Of the past you will not rue,
Live in gardens of paradise
Immersed in a blissful hue.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A SURGE OF INSPIRATION

I was reading a poem by Charles Kinsley, titled - FAREWELL, about the death of a little child and was inspired to write the verses above.

A FAREWELL
I

My fairest child, I have no song to give you;
No lark could pipe to skies so dull and grey:
Yet, ere we part, one lesson I can leave you
For every day.

II

Be good, sweet maid, and let who will be clever;
Do noble things, not dream them, all day long:
And so make life, death, and that vast for-ever
One grand, sweet song.
Charles Kingsley

Hope I did justice in reflecting upon his poem.

I can feel the poignancy behind the lines the poet looking for comfort through the belief in a world beyond. We all ache to see again those beloved ones we have lost. Sometimes just a glimmer of hope will carry us through the most extreme sorrow. Thank you Amar for this.
