The leaves ruffled,
The dogs whimpered and whined.
The night owls sang sad solemn songs.
Danger was lurking behind her door,
The door stuttered in fear
As danger drew near.
The door suddenly creaked open
And there stood the monster in sheep's clothing; scavenging the small room with his deadly eyes.
Her gentle eyes cried
For this was another day of pain
Her eyes slipped and slept
but suddenly awoke again.
Her ears could hear the beats of her heart.
Her lips were lost of words to mutter
Her body was crippled with fear.
Even the darkness of the night looked at her with pity in its eyes.
The night owls refrained from singing.
The dogs had stopped whimpering.
But for the pains she felt, it would have been a tranquil night.
She clenched her tiny fist.
As the monster once again, tore her apart.
