And Where Poem by Armadillo Poet

And Where

Do they sit when they call

Some get chased from the wind's shadow
To the shaking leaf
Calling all along
That they are moving, still moving

Others only call to strike fear
Dropping from their perches
Headlong with their tongues spearing

All call when the rains begin
Wet wet we are wet
Let us be together wet

Some even chase the rains
Or lead them calling below: I bring the rains
And the rains bring me

Others take a plant a couple dozen feet
In the air or so and barely murmur their song,
But they do it rain after shine after rain
They sing:

And where do you sit when you call
And in the rain
Though I can't hear you
Do you sing?
