An Indoor Game Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

An Indoor Game

Rating: 5.0

As they grew up their relationship received a blow,
a sudden lightening divided the breast of vast sky.
The girl was from high caste, the boy was from low.
The prehistoric superstition would never die.

At first the boy hardly understood his fault.
The girl's marriage was fixed at another place.
Why did on a sweet solution they pour salt?
Why was their valley of flowers set ablaze?

The girl understood first, changed her mind.
The boy declared, 'My blood is red.
I can clearly understand the conspiracy behind.
The society was, is and will be forever dead'.

He sacrificed his life to bring out social reform
but who could change the age-old law?
He was trapped in midst of a social storm,
his blood was sucked, flesh was eaten raw!

His girl forgot him forever,
declared the protestant, 'A criminal'.
The childhood love would come back never,
it was an indoor game, nothing serious at all!

His girl forgot him forever, declared the protestant, 'A criminal'. The childhood love would come back never, it was an indoor game, nothing serious at all! ......it's pathetic feelings in love; love is love, actually love does not know what's religion, caste, hue of skin, rules of society, social status, age; love is love an indomitable feelings of inside between two opposite gender; beautiful poem penned
