Amen Poem by James Baldwin

Amen

Rating: 4.4

No, I don't feel death coming.
I feel death going:
having thrown up his hands,
for the moment.
I feel like I know him
better than I did.
Those arms held me,
for a while,
and, when we meet again,
there will be that secret knowledge
between us.

He died at 63. so young? ! Too much stress during his life. STRESS can quicken death. That's a fact. A thought provoking poem, very simple, but for many readers his message reached many readers around the world. He had suffered very much, I reckon. A well deserved choice of PH. CONGRATULATIONS to his beloved family.
