Alone Poem by Nichole Herrin

Alone

Every time I look in the mirror
I see a liar.
I see a person I dont know
A face that may seem familiar
But now, is a lie forever
I drown in pain
from this knowledge
of seeing a blank face
yet everyone else
knows nothing of this
They see happiness
Everything I see
is wrong
While everything they see
is right.
Alone in my own self-pity
and pain.
Drowning in loneliness
