Alone Poem by Anthony R L Taylor

Alone

Rating: 1.0

I never knew champions could be standing alone
But coming from New Orleans I'm a champ on my own
Don't get me wrong I had help from my Great Auntie and my Grandmaw
Devastated to say they gone
And everybody that I thought was real really done proved me wrong
So I would rather be alone I'll still stand up on my own
And I'll never bite the hand that feeds me. Why? Cause it's my own
No pressure will make me fold
No place to me is home
I just pray that when I'm gone that my story will be told
Bout how I came from nothing and them broken days done made me whole
Ain't nothing like being homeless in the city that you were born
And them homies you thought were homies look more and more like opponents
